WHAT IT IS
Not a film school. Rather a circle, a community, and knowledge-sharing — a program meeting every other week for half a year:
– conversations about current questions in film
– screenings: short films from the 2000s
– meetings with professional guests
– sharing and discussing participants’ own films, ideas, and works
– creative assignments // workshop practice
A space for self-directed learning, professional debates and conversations, collective brainstorming, and developing and sharing our plans. Let’s create, debate, practice, and nurture contemporary film culture together!
WHO IT’S FOR
For those aged 18–30 interested in filmmaking.
No prior training required. You might be a student at a film school or vocational program (or someone still before choosing a path and entrance exams) // working in the film industry // a film enthusiast // from theatre // an actor // a visual artist // a humanities student — in short, anyone connected to film topics.
You must commit to regular attendance throughout the six-month period.
Minimum 10, maximum 15 participants.
WITH WHOM
Workshop leader: György Mór Kárpáti, film director
Host: Luca Borsos and the STEREO AKT collective, which creates interdisciplinary productions with an innovative approach, new perspectives, and distinctive technological solutions.
Guests in the first half of 2026: Orsolya Bukovszky (actor), Hajni Kis (film director), Péter Lichter (film director), Gergely Pálos (cinematographer), Viktória Petrányi (producer), Petra Szőcs (film director), Anna Vághy (editor), Gergely Váradi (actor), and others.
OPEN EVENTS
Alongside its closed, every-other-week sessions, STEREO Film Circle also organizes public events.

WHERE
At STEREO Workshop, a vibrantly diverse cultural hub and community space in District 8 (address: 1083 Illés utca 36).
WHEN
From January to June, every other week, on Monday evenings from 18:00, for 2 hours (with one break).
First session: Monday, January 5, 2026, 18:00.
HOW MUCH
Participation fee: 5 000 Ft per person per session. For the half-year: 60 000 Ft per person.
The half-year fee can be paid in one or two installments. Accepted participants will sign a contract with the association operating STEREO AKT regarding the conditions of participation.
APPLICATION PROCESS
In the first stage, you can apply to STEREO Film Circle by filling out this form.
Application deadline: Friday, November 21, 2025, midnight.
In the second stage, based on the applications, the organizers will compile a shortlist. Shortlisted applicants will have an admissions conversation in early December so we can start in January as a committed group.
The application process closes in mid-December.
